Which one, in practice
If you only want to play, Standard has the full game, all four maps and 10 Civilians. Deluxe is worth the extra $20 if you wanted to play four days early (that window has already opened), or if you specifically want Richard and Alexis now rather than buying the upgrade later. The Collector's Edition is a merchandise purchase: the game content it adds (Samhain skin, two extra cosmetics) is all earnable in-game.
Edition questions
What does 'advance access' mean on the physical editions?
The skins and cosmetics unlock instantly for physical buyers, but IllFonic states every advance-access item can also be earned by completing in-game challenges. Only the Phantom skin is a true exclusive.
Can I buy the Deluxe Edition during Early Access and still get the pre-order bonuses?
Yes. IllFonic's launch post says the pre-order bonuses stay available until the game launches on September 8, 2026 at 9 AM PT.
Will Richard and Alexis be sold separately?
IllFonic says a Digital Deluxe Edition Upgrade will be available at launch containing both Civilians, the Inmate skin 'and more surprises'.
I bought Deluxe but the content is not unlocked. What now?
This is the most-replied early-access thread on the Steam board (8 replies, 4-5 Sep). The suggestion that helped some players was verifying the game cache in Steam; IllFonic had not replied in the thread when we checked.
Is there a Steam key or DLC code in the physical box?
Physical editions ship on PS5 and Xbox Series X only. No PC physical edition exists.
