When does Halloween: The Game come out?
Full launch is Friday, September 8, 2026 at 9 AM PT on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and Epic. Digital Deluxe buyers have had Early Access since September 4 at 9 AM PT. Physical editions follow on October 6.
Is Halloween: The Game crossplay?
Yes, across PC, PS5 and Xbox, confirmed by IllFonic in the July 14 dev stream. Cross-progression is not planned. A day-one lobby bug between PC and PS5 was reported on the Steam board.
Is there a story mode, and how long is it?
Yes. You play Michael Myers through a prologue and five chapters narrated by Dr. Loomis. One early-access player posted first-run times totalling about 3.5 hours on Normal; challenges and collectibles add replay.
Why is Halloween: The Game banned in Australia?
The Australian Classification Board refused classification because in-game marijuana use gives a gameplay benefit. It cannot be sold on Australian storefronts. See the Australia page for details.
Is this the Halloween game by the Friday the 13th developers?
Yes. IllFonic develops and publishes; Gun Interactive co-publishes. The same two companies made Friday the 13th: The Game. It is not related to the Google Doodle Halloween games, the 'Halloween Spot the Difference' disc, or any board game.
Is Halloween: The Game like Dead by Daylight?
Both are 1v4 asymmetrical horror. The difference is the town: Haddonfield is full of NPC residents you convince, arm and evacuate, police escalate over the match, and Michael cannot be killed but can be detained. Negative Steam reviews often come from players expecting DbD's loop.
Which edition should I buy?
Standard is $39.99 with 10 Civilians. Deluxe is $59.99 and adds Early Access, the Inmate skin, Civilians Richard and Alexis, the Final Girl Laurie cosmetic and a comic. The Phantom skin comes with any digital pre-order until launch.
Is there a roadmap or season pass?
No. Asked on the July 14 stream, IllFonic said it is focused on showing what ships on day one and would talk about post-launch content later. Nothing has been announced since.
Can I play offline or against bots?
Story mode is singleplayer. Private matches can be filled with AI; a solo private match only lets you play as Michael. Online 1v4 needs a connection.

Will the iconic bush be in the game?
'Will the iconic bush be in the new halloween game' is one of the most-searched questions about it. IllFonic has not answered publicly and we have not seen it confirmed in any recording, so we list it as unconfirmed.
How do I change keybinds?
Open Bindings and switch the profile from Default to Custom A or Custom B. Individual keys are locked until you do.
Is there a code or codes system?
No. There are no promo codes to redeem. The only 'code' is the pre-order bonus that platforms attach to your purchase automatically.
