Early-access crossplay lobby bug
Two Steam threads opened on Sep 4 ('crossplay not working?' with 6 replies, 'crossplay issues please fix') describe PC and PS5 friends being kicked from each other's lobby with a 'bypass' error. Replies expect the day-one patch at the Sep 8 launch to address it. IllFonic had not replied in either thread when we read them on Sep 5.
Status: Open as of 2026-09-05. This section is updated when IllFonic posts a patch note.
The platforms themselves are listed on the platforms page; how a five-player private lobby works is on the multiplayer page.
Crossplay questions
Can PC and PS5 players play together?
Yes by design. During Early Access (Sep 4-5) two Steam threads report PC and PS5 friends being kicked from each other’s lobby with a "bypass" error. Players expect the Sep 8 day-one patch to address it.
Does my progress carry between Steam and PS5?
No. IllFonic said on the July 14 stream that it has no current plans for cross-progression.
Can I turn crossplay off?
Players in the crossplay bug thread mention having crossplay enabled, which implies a toggle exists in settings. We have not seen the setting on screen ourselves.
