Halloween: The Game Story Challenges: Chapter 1 & Prologue

Why only two chapters

Challenges unlock alternate outfits and cosmetics, and completing all of them across the campaign unlocks a legendary Michael look, per IllFonic’s Progression overview. But this list only includes challenges that have been shown on screen with their exact wording: a press-preview video for Chapter 1 (3 September) and an early-access Prologue video (5 September). Chapters 2 to 5 will be added as recordings surface. A Steam post on 5 September also reports that some challenges did not flag as complete despite meeting the criteria, so treat early-access tracking as unreliable.

Prologue: Escape from Smith’s Grove

5Escape without alerting the orderliesA full stealth run of the prologue. The 8-minute guide video covers the route; challenges 1-4 were not read on screen.

Chapter 1: The Road to Haddonfield

Set in East Haddonfield at the Rabbit in Red Lounge and Phelps Garage (see the maps page).

#ChallengeNotes
1Kill everyone inside the Rabbit in RedThe bar full of Castle Hill Rooks.
2Use shove to stumble a Biker off balanceShove is the same input Civilians use; here it sets up an execution.
3Kill any target with the Broken Pool CueA chapter-specific weapon found in the bar.
4Execute a Biker with a context executionContext executions are the environment kills, not the weapon ones.
5Kill any target with a thrown cleaverWeapons can be thrown; the cleaver was in the October 2025 weapon reveal.
6Kill three Residents in the chapterResidents are the non-biker NPCs around the garage.

Chapter 4: the Bob and Lynda sequence

Not a challenge, but the most-asked story question on the Steam board (asked twice on 5 September): after picking up Bob’s glasses, the sheet for the Lynda kill is on the bed in the other upstairs bedroom, to the left of Lynda’s room. It does not show as interactable until you have the glasses.

Collectibles

A 5 September video walks every collectible from the Prologue through Chapter 5 in six minutes. It does not display a running total, so we do not quote one; the gold Collector trophy on the trophy list is the likely reward.

First-run times for planning

From one player’s Normal run: Prologue 14:46, Chapter 1 17:00, Chapter 2 23:56, Chapter 3 31:20, Chapter 4 35:05, Chapter 5 7:34 (a sprint to the ending). Budget an evening for a clean run and a second for challenges.
